The Pre-Teen Peace Program provides social skills training to 12-20 pre-teens (ages 10-11), each semester. The staff consists of a trained, experienced coordinator/lead counselor, assisted by 5 university students. The group follows the P.E.A.C.E by P.E.A.C.E curriculum (developed at Yale University ) to learn skills in group belonging, conflict resolution and team-building. Youth learn leadership and civic engagement as they mentor and serve younger children. They hone academic skills as they produce instructional materials, games, computer simulations and puppet plays for younger children on the topics of conflict resolution and group responsibility.
